Our Story

Learn the history of the 109 Family and our work in this community

The story of 109 began with a simple desire: to reach more people in Wilson County with the message of Jesus.

The Vision

As our community continued to grow, we began praying and planning for how we could serve the families and neighborhoods along Highway 109 and throughout the Lebanon and Mount Juliet area. Property was purchased with the hope that one day it would become a place where people could gather to worship God, study His Word, and build meaningful relationships.

It would take time for that vision to develop, but the foundation had been laid.

The Launch

In 2019, that vision began to take shape as the 109 family launched and began meeting at West Elementary School.

Each week we gathered in hallways and shared spaces to worship, pray, and study together. It was a season of building relationships and laying the foundation for what God was beginning to do among us.

Not long after we began meeting, our community faced unexpected challenges. Tornadoes impacted Wilson County, and soon after the COVID-19 pandemic changed how churches everywhere gathered and served.

Even during those uncertain seasons, we continued to find ways to worship together, support one another, and care for the people around us.

The Move

In the summer of 2021, we moved into our current building along Highway 109.

After years of prayer, planning, and preparation, this new space allowed the 109 family to gather more consistently for worship, Bible classes, and ministry. It also created new opportunities to serve the growing community around us.

For many who had been part of those early days meeting in a school, it marked an exciting new chapter in our story.

The Future

While locations and buildings change, the mission remains the same.

The 109 family continues to grow as we seek to love Jesus deeply and show compassion to others. As Wilson County continues to grow, we want to grow as well. Not only in number, but in the ways we serve, care for people, and share the hope found in Christ.

Our story is still being written, and we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of what God is doing in this community.
