Online Giving at 109

Hey 109 family! We are blessed abundantly to have so many opportunities to show love and serve our community and share the good news of Jesus to all those around us. None of this would be possible without your generous gifts of your time, talents, and treasures. All of these are integral to the work we do as a congregation. Giving monetarily is important to the work of the church, whether you give in person or online. We are thankful for your support no matter how you give! Right now, we want to talk to you specifically about online giving here at 109.

We have an incredibly simple way for you to be able to quickly and easily give online. Just go to 109.church(hey look, you're already here) and click on the little blue icon in the bottom left corner, then select the give option. From there, you can select how much you would like to give, choose the fund you would like for it to go to, and choose if you would like to give once or set up a recurring gift. Then it's as simple as putting in your card information or securely linking your bank account for a transfer.

Not only have we worked hard to ensure that online giving is as easy as possible, but also is best to ensure that the funds given are used to further the kingdom rather than get lost in hefty transaction fees. You see, churches lose OVER $30,000,000 EVERY YEAR in digital giving. This is because the standard for church giving providers is to add large percentages to transaction fees, which takes funds right out of ministry and puts it into the hands of corporations. We took time to carefully review our choices for a giving provider to avoid this senseless spending while still adapting to an increasingly cashless world.

That's why we love working with Nucleus Giving, because they have the lowest possible rates and they don't take a percentage for profit. Like most other giving companies, there's still some fees associated with digital giving to ensure that it remains secure. So let's break down what those look like with Nucleus Giving. For credit or debit cards, there is a flat 1.9% transaction fee. This is the lowest rate of any giving provider and is standard across all cards, including American Express. If you choose to link your bank account for ACH transfer, the fee is just $0.25 cents per transaction. These fees are covered by you, the giver, to help make sure that your full gift can be used in service to the kingdom.

Now, if you've already been using online giving here at 109, you will notice some changes occurring that will help us overall as a congregation and as we continue to move forward. First off, users will notice the new 25 cent fee added on the transactions. This small fee adds up to just $13 a year with a weekly gift. Though these were previously free for the giver, this new fee structure will help us as a congregation to save hundreds of dollars per year on fees and put that money directly into service. We're saving this money by switching from RebelGive (our former giving provider) to Nucleus Giving, which is a sister company of theirs. That means that this change in providers will not stop any recurring gifts that you have already set up, but you'll notice the receipts will now be coming from hello@nucleus.church rather than hello@rebelgive.com. To log into your account, you can simply visit 109.church/give(look at you, you're in the right spot already) and click the account button. And if you used RebelGive in the past, the credentials used to log in there will work here as well.

We are excited to have this tool and look forward to using it in our work here 109. If you have any questions, you can reach out to us at hello@109.church. You can also contact the elders if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
